Halter collars primarily use sound and vibration to guide animals. If a cow repeatedly chooses to ignore these primary cues, a low-energy pulse (less then 1/10th of an electric fence), is used to reinforce the primary cues.

• Our system allows for a wide range of pulse settings, the lowest of which is 0.1 Joules.
• A small proportion of cows have a temperament to push boundaries, particularly when grazing on crops or in winter grazing where over-feeding can lead to animal health issues. For this group a higher pulse energy is used, up to a maximum of 0.45 Joules.
• This level of energy remains far below the regulated maximum energy of an electric fence shock (5.0 Joules), is typically less than this, and is tailored to be the minimum required for that individual animal.
• Cues to guide cattle are customised per animal - the system learns each animal’s behaviour and adjusts accordingly. This customisation of cues per cow is a world-first for cow wearables.
