Running a productive and sustainable farm is no small task, and now with Halter as an approved Fonterra On-farm solutions partner for the 2026/27 season, farmers lifting efficiency and moving the needle on emissions can do it without taking on the full cost alone.
The Fonterra customer-funded initiative is offering eligible dairy farmers up to $2000+GST of funding towards using Halter to manage their farming operations.
What is On-farm solutions?
It’s a Fonterra customer-funded initiative to help boost emissions efficiency on farm. Fonterra farmers who meet any level of the Co-operative Difference are eligible to apply.
The funding of $2000+GST can support farmers who already use Halter to manage their farming operations, or is available to farmers who are looking to implement or expand with Halter. Available on our Core, Pro and Unlimited packages.
Applications open on Wednesday, 8 July 2026 at 12 noon, with funding available on a first in first served basis.
Who can apply for the funding?
Fonterra farmers who achieve any level of the Co-operative Difference in 2026/27 can apply for funding.
Those farmers submit an application to Fonterra stating that they are using or planning to use Halter, and if successful, Halter will confirm use, and Fonterra will send the reimbursement directly to the farmer.
Do I already have to be a Halter farmer?
No. This funding is open to both current and prospective Halter farmers. So if you’re curious about collaring up or wanting to expand your operation and take it to the next level, this is for you.
How to apply
- Apply via Fonterra. The Co-op will email you when applications open.
- Choose Halter as your provider and sign up with us directly.
- The reimbursement will be paid straight to you by Fonterra.
