Halter is now available in Canada. Our first ranches launched and began running Halter this past January, and we've been working closely with them since.
Halter is currently deployed on seven ranches, with additional deployments planned across Western Canada. Ranchers in Canada using Halter have shared that they are now able to better utilize the land they manage and graze better in areas that would be too rugged to use otherwise.
What is Halter?
Halter lets you manage your cattle and grass, all from your phone. With solar-powered, satellite-enabled smart collars and a mobile app, Halter puts virtual fencing and shifting, grazing management, herd visibility, and animal behavior insights in your hands. Because our collars connect directly to satellites, ranchers can run Halter on any acre of their ranch, even on country with no service. For most ranchers the biggest wins are reduced labor and operational costs, better grazing efficiency, improved animal performance, and running cattle on ground they couldn't fence before.
Where is Halter available in Canada?
Halter is available across Canada, with live ranches in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Across Canada we have a team on the ground ready to support ranchers. If you want to learn more about Halter, let us know and our team will get in touch.
Why is Halter expanding to Canada?
Canadian ranchers run big herds across a lot of country, the same kind of ground where ranchers already run Halter in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. With Halter, they can fence and graze country they could never wire, all from their phone, and keep tabs on the herd even when it's miles out on leased or remote ground. Because Halter is solar-powered and connects direct-to-satellite, it keeps working well past the reach of any cell service, which on a lot of Canadian ranches can cover most of the land.
How much does Halter cost in Canada?
Pricing depends on your operation, so there's no single number we can give here. If you want to talk it through, reach out through our contact page and someone on our team will follow up.
