1. Eligibility:
The Halter ‘Free for a year’ Giveaway (Giveaway) is open to individuals who are:
Employees and contractors of Halter Limited (Halter) and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
2. How to Enter:
To enter the Giveaway, participants must complete the application form provided by Halter on the website and submit it by 11:59 pm on 15 June 2025.
By submitting an application, the applicant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions. Entries are only valid if the applicant has accepted these terms and conditions.
3. Prize:
Subject to compliance with the criteria set out below, each winner will receive the suitable Halter package for their farm (Prize), being either: the ‘Unlimited’ package for a dairy farmer, or the ‘Base’ package for a beef farmer, at no cost for 12 months from the date of deployment. In addition, standard deployment costs will be covered by Halter. This does not include the cost of an electrician, if required.
The Prize will apply to the number of Fixed Collars specified in the Halter Sales and Services Agreement on the Effective Date of that agreement, which will be based on the number of cattle on the farm at the beginning of the term. The Prize does not include the cost for additional collars supplied above the amount set out in the Sales and Services Agreement (including any Flexi Collars).
Receipt of the Prize is conditional on a winner:
The date of deployment will be determined by Halter, in agreement with each winner.
The Prize is non-negotiable, non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash or other products.
After the end of the 12 months, standard subscription costs will apply, unless the winner cancels the services in accordance with the Terms of Service and Sales and Services Agreement.
4. Selection of Winners:
Halter will select three winners from all eligible entries received (two dairy farms, and one beef farm). The decision of Halter in selecting the winners will be entirely at Halter’s sole discretion, and will be final and binding.
Winners will be selected based on the information submitted in the application form and in a follow up call or interview. Top applicants will be shortlisted and the final selection will occur following a visit to the shortlisted farms. Assessment of applications is entirely at Halter’s sole discretion. Halter makes no representations about an applicant’s chance of winning.
Winners will be announced by 11 July 2025.
5. Failure to Claim Prize:
If a selected winner cannot be contacted within 48 hours of the initial attempt to contact them and/or does not sign the Terms of Service and Sales and Services Agreement within five days of being contacted and/or is unavailable to participate in the promotional activities required for the winner announcement and/or is otherwise unable to comply with these terms and conditions, Halter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and select an alternate winner from the remaining eligible entries.
The alternate winner will be selected by Halter as described in clause 4.
Halter shall have no liability to any disqualified winner or alternate winner in such circumstances.
6. Promotional Activities:
By participating in the Giveaway, winners agree to participate in promotional activities as requested by Halter, including but not limited to interviews, video and photo shoots, farm demonstrations with industry stakeholders, and social media posts, throughout the 12 month period that they are receiving Halter at no cost. These requests will be arranged in collaboration with the customer so as to be as efficient as possible with the customer's time and to avoid any disruption to the management of their farm.
Winners agree that their name, likeness, and any materials created during promotional activities may be used by Halter for marketing and promotional purposes without further compensation.
7. Data Usage:
By entering the Giveaway, participants consent to the collection, storage, and use of their personal information by Halter for the purpose of administering the Giveaway and for marketing purposes. To ensure that winners get the most out of Halter, winners will be required to agree to provide farm physical and financial data, as reasonably requested by Halter to monitor the impact of Halter over the 12 month period.
Halter may contact participants via email or other communication channels provided by the participant.
Participant data will not be shared with third parties without consent, except as required by law or for the purpose of facilitating the Giveaway.
Halter collects and holds personal information provided by participants for the purposes of this Giveaway, and to advise details of further promotions by mail, email or texts. You will always be given the right to opt out of receiving further communications. Failure to provide requested personal information may disqualify a person from entering this competition. Under the Privacy Act 2020, participants have the right to access and correct any such personal information. Participants may access and request correction of any of the details about them held by the Promoter by sending an email to contact@halter.co.nz
8. General conditions:
Halter reserves the right to disqualify any participant who violates these terms and conditions or engages in fraudulent or inappropriate conduct, without notice.
Halter reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Giveaway without notice if any fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond Halter's reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Giveaway.
Halter will not be held liable for any failure of receipt of entries. Halter takes no responsibility for any entries which are lost, delayed, illegible, corrupted, damaged, incomplete, or otherwise invalid.
By participating in the Giveaway, participants agree to release and hold harmless Halter from any liability arising from their participation in the Giveaway or acceptance, receipt, possession, or misuse of the Prize.
Halter will not be liable for any delays or failures to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond its control, such as acts of God, natural disasters, or government actions.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Halter will not be liable for any loss arising under or in connection with the Giveaway or these Terms and Conditions, whether direct or indirect and regardless of whether such loss was reasonably foreseeable or known to Halter.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand.
Participants acknowledge and agree that they will comply with all instructions given by employees of Halter regarding the Giveaway and agree not to do anything that may bring Halter into disrepute.
